Scheme of Delegation 2016

Enquire Learning Trust has implemented a structure for all Academy Local Governing Bodies. The Enquire Learning Trust appoints all Trustees at Buckingham Primary Academy.

The Local Governing Body meetings are held once every half term with committees operating in line with the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation when any need arises, for example Pupil Discipline Committee or Appeals Committee.

The development of governance is an important part of Academy life. The role of Academy governors is to development a strong ‘critical friend’ relationship between the Trust Board and the Local Governing Body.

Register of Interests for the Local Governing Body

Declaration of Business Interests is a standard agenda item on every Local governing Body meeting. In addition governors complete an annual registration of business interests form to comply with statutory financial regulations.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Requirements

School Governance (Constitution)(England) Regulations 2012 states that academy governors are required to be subject to a DBS check. To ensure compliance, members of our Local Governing Body are required to undertake a DBS check as part of the appointment process.
